5x Interior Oak Doors Varnished & Woodwork Refresh

Gt. Brickhill, Milton Keynes

The work here involved the refurbishment and painting of woodwork (skirting boards and door frames) in a kitchen, dining room, lounge/living room and an upstairs landing to a high end and professional finish. Dustless sanding equipment was used to strip back the existing gloss finish prior to a water based grip adhesive primer being applied followed by a water based gloss finish. Removing any possibility of yellowing over time. Downstairs the floor beading was taped and sealed with PVA glue prior to any paints being applied. Upstairs the carpet was protected at all times whilst work progressed using carpet protector; as always ensuring your home is protected and committing to best practice.

Four untreated first floor interior oak doors were cleaned, lightly sanded with a fine 320 grit and cleaned again prior to application of a polyurethane durable wood varnish with a satin 30% sheen. Post application of one coat, the doors were lightly denibbed to remove any raised grain with a 400 grit paper before applying a further two coats to match existing varnished oak doors.  Our dust free work environment was maintained at all times to support the final finish and to cause minimum cleaning. Downstairs, one door with an imperfect oiled finish was also sanded down, cleaned and reoiled, free of marks and other contaminants.
